Sikorski Polonez (Song and Dance group)

The Sikorski Polonez, is dedicated to promoting and preserving Polish culture through the artistry of traditional dance. Our primary focus is the Polonaise (Polonez), a distinguished Polish national dance recognized by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Founded in 2017 by Violetta Skrętowska Jabari, our group has proudly been part of the Sikorski Memorial House in Glasgow since 2021. The group embodies a deep passion for showcasing the elegance, history, and symbolism of the Polonez. Through our performances, we aim to highlight not only the dance itself but also the music, costumes, and cultural narratives that accompany it. Our historical costumes represent various eras of Polish history, illustrating the evolution of national identity and artistic expression.
